FOUR International Jazz Stars play in hotel ballroom in rural Somerset– another huge coup for local Community Group, Drayton Events

Following the runaway success of their inaugural concert, local community group, Drayton Events, can announce details of the follow up event featuring, once again, the extraordinary talents of Pete Long and James Pearson (Musical and Artistic Directors of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club respectively) who will be combined with world class bassist Laurence Cottle and new star Ed Richardson on drums. A concert of spectacular musicianship is in prospect. As with the first event, the unlikely setting for this internationally famed line up is the Ballroom of the Langport Arms Hotel, deep in the Somerset levels.

The list of credits for this illustrious quartet is almost endless – between them, they have worked with a panoply of stars: Dizzy Gillespie, Eric Clapton, Chick Corea, Supersax, Jamie Cullum, Sir Willard White, Jools Holland, Clare Teal, Joss Stone, Dionne Warwick, Katie Melhua, Will Young, Seth McFarlane, Stereophonics, Tom Jones, Norah Jones, Lulu, Lionel Richie, Dame Cleo Laine, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Stewart, Buddy Greco, Johnny Griffin, Ray Davies, Jeff Beck and Paul McCartney to name just a few!

Given the talents of the performers, there is no doubt that this concert will be a demonstration of extreme virtuosity and artistry, as they deliver an evening of jazz standards from Cole Porter and Irving Berlin to Dizzy Gillespie and Duke Ellington

A spokesman for Drayton events said; ‘When your first concert features two of the best players around it sets the bar very high for the next one. We couldn’t really do better than Pete and James, so we simply added two more players of equal stature. Once again our intention is to only bring music of the highest quality to the local area. The first concert was a great success with a full house, multiple standing ovations and a wealth of positive feedback. We are doing our best to achieve the same again and this is a great opportunity for anyone living in the local community, who has musical interests, to experience the best without paying a fortune or having to travel to a big city. This will be an evening of the best toe tapping jazz played by the best exponents of the genre.’
