The HallThe Ridgway Hall can be found in Stacey's Court at the bottom of Bow Street opposite the vets. There is parking outside the hall and the beautiful Cocklemoor can be accessed via a pedestrain bridge directly behind the hall. The Parret Trail can be joined at this point and the Langport Visitors Centre is a short walk along the moor and over the bridge designed for the new millenium, notable for its use of ground-breaking construction materials and methods.

The hall is purpose-built and was the brainchild of Derek Ridgway, after whom the hall is named, and Paddy Mounter, local artist, author and town councillor who was actively involved in ensuring the hall remained at the heart of the community. They encouraged and sought the involvement of local youths in the whole process of fund-raising and establishment  - a practice that is continued today with the young people being very much an integral part of the hall's success.

Bridge ViewThe hall has undergone a series of renovations and the local young people have worked hard to further enhance the hall with new decoration and first-class facilities, such as a fitted kitchen and disco lighting, to ensure that the hall provides an outstanding facility for the local community. Please turn to the Facilities Page to find out more about what the hall can offer you.

The hall is very well used and plays host to amongst others the army cadets, fitness classes, toddler singing, karate, bridge, a disabled group and local artists. The local MP holds his surgeries bi-monthly on a Saturday and Blood Donors occur on a Thursday with children's or adults parties at weekends.
